Georgitta “Gigi” Accam
Degreed Professional Manager
My name is Georgitta Accam, but I go by Gigi. I was born in Ghana and raised in London. From a young age, my parents instilled in me the belief that hard work is the key to achieving your dreams and goals. They always said that even when times are tough, you need to believe in yourself and give your best effort. They taught me that nothing is impossible if you’re willing to work hard to get there.
This mindset has shaped my career and life. I spent eight years working in the mental health sector, focusing primarily on adolescents. It was an incredibly fulfilling experience, helping young people navigate difficult times in their lives.
On March 14th, 2023, I began working with Mid-Missouri Supported Living as a Direct Support Professional (DSP). My dedication and commitment to my work led to a promotion to House Manager, and later, I was blessed with another promotion to Degreed Professional Manager (DPM). I view this progression as a testament to the values my parents instilled in me and a blessing from God.
The most rewarding aspect of my work is seeing the progress of individuals with mental health challenges and special needs. Their smiles and gratitude when they achieve their goals are the true rewards of this profession.
As a DPM for Mid-Missouri Supported Living, my mission is to ensure that my team provides the highest quality of care and support to our individuals and their families. I am dedicated to creating opportunities for those we serve, helping them to explore and embrace all that life has to offer.
I am deeply thankful to God for this role and for the opportunity to be part of an organization that encourages professional growth. I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Pamela for believing in me and allowing me to be part of such an amazing team.
